Become a Homeowner
Since 1989, we have helped numerous individuals and families achieve strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.
At Habitat, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. Unfortunately, statistics tell us that one in four households in the U.S. pays more than 30% of their income for housing and may have difficulty affording necessities such as food or clothing. So, we have spent the past 30+ years partnering with those who want to build better lives for themselves.
If you support our mission and find yourself asking how you too can become a Habitat homeowner, please see below to review the qualifications. Habitat homeownership is a foundation for a brighter future.

Potential homebuyers might be dealing with poorly made, unhealthy or inadequate housing; unaffordable rent; homes inaccessible for their disabilities or damaged by natural disasters, or have other shelter needs.
Ability To Pay
Habitat offers homebuyers an affordable mortgage. Their mortgage payments cycle back into the community to help build more affordable homes.
Willingness to Partner
Habitat homebuyers put in hundreds of "sweat equity" helping build their own home and the homes of others in the program. This might also include classes in personal finances, home maintenance and other homeownership topics.
